Meet David

Hi, my name is David Duty.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was 1995 and I was living in Denver, CO. I got a package in the mail full of information about average people who were getting rich overnight trading commodities. Well, at least that's what the "Cigar Smoking Cowboy" said.

I thought that's what I wanted to do, get rich overnight, so I ordered a $200 mail-order course It arrived about a week later and it

was not what I expected. It was grade school level at best, with a cartoon of people riding the "Profit Train" up the mountain!

I didn't do very well, to say the least, and I blew out a $20,000 account in less than 90 days. Maybe you have also experienced something like this in the past or are there right now. I didn't like losing the money, no one would, but I looked at it this way, if I

lost $20,000 someone else made $20,000. I just had to find out what they were doing differently than me.

What I really needed was a Mentor but unfortunately, I didn't know any that I would consider trustworthy that were willing to

teach me. If you are in that position now, don't worry, I know someone who can help! 😊

My Quest for Knowledge

I spent the next 18 months immersed in study to learn how to trade. I read over 100 books (I really did), went to several seminars

in Chicago, New York and Las Vegas. It seemed like the more I studied, the more confused I got. Some people would say always

trade this way and others would say to never trade that way, which was confusing and frustrating. Pure and simple, I had

information overload. Maybe this has happened to you too.

I knew there was something I was missing but I didn't know what it was at first. I decided to get all my books, video tapes

(remember them?) and put them on my kitchen table which upset my wife to no end, but I had plan.

I wanted to review all the books, magazines, videos and all my notes. I've always been an avid note taker and it helped me a lot. I

still have some of the spiral notebooks and there is not a single one of those books that didn't have highlights, underlines, and

notes in the margins on almost every page.

I was looking for something, but I just wasn't sure what, maybe a common thread, that all these people could agree on, and I

finally found it, technical analysis. That's the day the light turned on for me and it's only gotten brighter as time passed.

Since 1997, I have been trading and teaching people to trade fulltime. I wrote my first course, Common Sense Commodities over

20 years ago and it became the #1 Rated Course to learn to trade. The course has been updated many times.

I've also written several other courses which are also available here on the Website.

The Big Move

In 2002, after living in Denver for 17 years, I moved to Gulf Breeze, FL and opened my own Brokerage Firm, Common Sense

Capital. I also passed several rigorous tests to become a CTA (Commodity Trading Adviser}. That means I was licensed with the

NFA and the CFTC and had to abide by their very strict rules to be able to teach people to trade.

Only a few educators ever become a CTA because of all the disclosure requirements they are required to make if they sell

courses, hold seminars or write books and even fewer of them have ever owned their own Brokerage. I guess I'm an exception.

I have thousands of students in over 27 countries. They come from all walks of life. I have doctors, accountants, farmers, truck

drivers, retired policemen, appliance repairmen, teachers, and a rodeo clown, just to name a few. I have a rocket scientist who

attended one of my Seminars, and I even have a student who lives in Antarticia! My students range in age from 14 to 88. so, I

don't think age matters to be honest.

Wow, it just dawned on me, I've been trading, and teaching people to trade, for over two decades! Also, I've got a good reputation

that I'm proud of that. You can Google me, and you won't find anything negative thing about me or my courses. I think that says

a lot.

I've done workshops with industry leaders, like Steven Nison, Lan Turner, Jake Burnstein and others in the United States,

Canada, England, Brazil, Russia and Panama.

Unfortunately, in 2004, Hurrican Ivan hit Florida and destroyed my home. I spent the next two years rebuilding it and looking for

a new place to call home.

Industry Leaders

This is one of the first courses I ever read when learning to trade commodity futures. David Duty and I have been trading partners and friends ever since. I love trading futures, it's my heart and soul, and if you want to get a fantastic understanding of how to enter and be a part of this amazing and fascinating world, then this is absolutely the best course you can get your hands on, hands down!

Lan Turner - Founder of Gecko Software

Each topic was very thoroughly covered. I also feel that your choice of the technical analysis selections was right on. It's taken me YEARS, not to mention thousands of hard-earned dollars, to learn what you are offering your students. I am very pleased with this course. The foundation is in place to really bring something new to traders. Your chosen direction is right on the mark.

Raghee Horner - Author and fulltime trader

“There is a Japanese proverb, ‘a book gives knowledge, but it is experience that gives understanding’. Your real world experiences, so well presented in your commodities course, should benefit anyone who reads it. It is one of the most comprehensive courses I have ever seen and it’s a great value for the money”

Steve Nison CMT - Author who introduced Japanese Candlesticks to the West

Boquete, Panama - My New Home

After rebuilding my home that was destroyed by Hurrican Ivan in 2002, I started looking for a new place to live away from any

possibility of a hurricane. I considered Mexico, Spain, Croatia, Thailand, Australia, Brazil, Argentina and a few other places.

After spending a few weeks in Central America, I fell in love with Boquete, Panama which is about 3,600 FT up in the mountains.

I bought a villa in Valle Escondido, a private gated community in Boquete.

The locals here are wonderful, and Boquete has a very low crime rate. The weather is great! We don't have heating or air-

conditioning because the temperature is between 62 and 75 degrees, 365 days a year!

I tell anyone who has never been here that if it gets hot, we open the window, and if it gets cold, we close the window. That's not

being completely honest because sometimes I need to put on a sweater! My wife Rosie, who was born here, thinks she's going

to freeze if the temperature drops below 70. She's never experienced cold weather before.

Boquete is called, "The Land of Eternal Springtime".

Life Is More Than Just Trading

Even though trading has been an important part of my life for the past 25+ years, I do have other interests. I fell in love with motorcycles at a very young age. I was 6 years old, and my brother was 10. Our parents got us a little Cushman scooter that we

were supposed to share. I got the short end of the stick on that one though as I had to ride on the backseat most of the time.

I've had Japanese bikes, a Harley and a Norton. I switched to BMW motorcycles back in the 1990's and never looked back. I

purchased a BMW 1200 GS, when I arrived in Panama. I consider it the perfect touring motorcycle for any serious long-distance

riding. My longest non-stop ride was 28 hours from Denver, CO to Toronto, Canada, about 1,500 miles. I just stopped to eat, get

coffee, and fill up my bike.

I've ridden pretty close to a million miles all over the world, in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, South America and of course here

in Central America. Next on my bucket list is Africa. I might even stop and see some of my students there. Below are a few fond memories and they make me want to go out for another ride right now.

The Rocky Mountains

I don't remember exactly what year this was but probably in

1998 or 1999 before I moved to Florida.

I was a beautiful Fall Day, and I was riding my black BMW 1100

RT and my friend was riding his yellow BMW RS.

The Rockies are a great place to ride.

Argentina, I love it!

Argentia is wonderful and I spent a lot of time in Bunos Aries which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It's called the Paris of South America and for good reason.

Also, still at the top of my list is Mendoza, Argentina, where 80% of the wine in Argentina is made. It's similar to Napa Valley, CA in that regard. Both cities remind me of being in Europe, with wide streets and outdoor cafes.

McDonald's in Mendoza even sells wine. They told me it's the only McDonald's in the world that can sell wine. Your choice, red or white!

Ruta del Che

Che Gaurav, prior to becoming a Revelationist, was an avid biker. His route is well known for most bikers who make it to South America.

Here is a stop on the "Ruta del Che" on the way to Santiego Chile. A biker friend sent this photo to me. Unfortunately, I could not make the trip with him.

A great book, "The Motorcycle Diary" is a true story about his now famous ride. They also made a movie about it.

The Top of The Andes

From Santiago Chile you have to go up the longest and windiest highway I've ever seen to get to the boarder to enter Argentina.

The next major city is Mendoza, the wine Capital of Argentina. My wife Rosie, who is from Boquete, and I went to Mendoza on our honeymoon.

How could you not like a city that serves wine at McDonald's!

Hat Maker in Ecuador

This old lady has been making Panama hats since she was 12 years old.

Most people don't know it, but the famous Panama Hats are actually made in Ecuador, some costing several thousand

dollars.

I told my wife I met a new girlfriend in Ecuador. She didn't think that was very funny for some reason.

Sao Paulo, Brazil Commodities

Exchange

Sao Paulo is the Capital of Brazil, and I was invited down to discuss training some of their traders.

I didn't think, at that time, that it as a good fit for the way I

trade. I was a position trader, and all these people were floor traders. But it was a good break for me on my trip through

Argentina.

Holger, Rosie, Melanie and me

Holger, a biker friend from Germany who stayed a week with us

in Boquete back in 2008. He and his wife had been touring the world for 5 years on BMW motorcycles.

I, along with my wife Rosie, and our daughter Melanie, we took

him to a cafe up in the mountains.

Boquete is the background. As you can see, we were up about 5,000 ft or so almost in the clouds.

Ecuador Outdoor Restaurant

A quick stop on the side of the highway in Ecuador. Actually, the fresh pork was great, but I passed on eating Guina Pigs.

Yes, Guina Pigs are a common food item in restaurants in Ecuador.

What Students Had To Say

I have finally fallen into somewhat of a routine for

watching all the charts. It takes me about an hour,

depending on how many interruptions I have of course,

but at least I’m getting through them. I know I’ve said this before, but I can still hardly believe how easy your system

is!! There are some things that I’m still having problems

with (figuring profits/loses) but I read more in your book

again this past weekend, and more of the techniques

have gotten easier to recognize. This morning, I found 8

trades to put on (paper-trading), and that amazes me.

Last week I put on 18 paper-trades, of which 16

completed the formations, and I would have been in the market/in a contract. Of those 16, NONE were losers. That

just really amazes me. NONE were losers.

I can only ditto the glowing remarks that others who gave this course a five-star review have made. Along with other courses that David has authored, I purchased the Common Sense Commodities course when it was first released, and I was one of the first to purchase his Common Sense Options course. David doesn't just sell courses--he follows through with his time. He considers each course purchaser his student, and he personally cares about each and every one. In order to ensure that you have a complete understanding of the concepts involved in charting and trading commodities and options, David goes the second mile to give you access to all videos and notes that pertain to his courses, and he is always available to answer any questions that you may have. He is a born teacher and trainer, and I consider his courses basic to laying a solid foundation for your trading experience, be it in commodities or stocks.

I started learning to trade back in 1995 and purchased several worthless courses (Cigar smoking cowboy), read over 100 books in two years and in the end, I was even more confused. Some said "Do this and never do that". Others said just the opposite. I decided to find a common thread that they all agreed on. Once I did, my life changed and I wrote the #1 rated course on how to traded commodities.

If you aren't aware of how important these two indicators are then you really need to take this course. I wrote it to help my students understand when a market is in a strong trend and when the trend is weaking.

Everyone knows that a strong trend can be much more profitable than a weak trend. But how do you know if it's strong or weak?

This course will answer those questions for you. And it's FREE for now.
